Leslie Kucey

Wellness Facilitator

I am Dene from Fort Resolution in the NWT, I am a proud member of the Deninu K’ue First Nation. In my Chipewyan language I am called a, “Dene Ts’eni” which translates into helper. I have been facilitating for the past 17 years in various life areas that have affected Indigenous People.

I am a facilitator for Ben Calf Robe Society’s “Our Children are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Course”, and various other topics that have been weaved into Indigenous People by force, and by present day circumstances. I believe the tools and knowledge presented with understanding, love, and respect can provide healing opportunities for everyone involved. Anyone who is open to meeting Indigenous people where they are at can foster an understanding to help our youth, families and communities with their real-life struggles and challenges. I believe I can help empower people through providing knowledge through hands on approaches that are reflective of themselves. I am of the mindset that when we share our life stories through a trauma informed lens it can then become someone else’s survival manual.
